Edward I was the eldest son of Henry III, who became King at only age 9 after his father King John, lost the Duchy of Normandy 1216. King John is the infamous King whose reign led to the sealing of the Magna Carta, shortly before he died. Edward I became King in 1272 after Henry III passed. Edward I is well known for passing away on his journey to battle Robert the Bruce 1307. A hoard full of Edward I, II, III silver coinage was discovered on the 10th of May 1877 at Montrave.
