During the reign of George VI, the two shilling was in circulation between 1937-1951. The 1937 to 1946 edition was composed from silver however the 1947 to 1951 editions were composed with copper nickel. The 1937-1948 editions had the Lettering visible on the Obverse, 'IND IMP', whereas the 1949 to 1951 production of the two shilling does not.
