Gordian III, born in 225, became emperor in 238 at only 13 years old. His reign only lasted for 6 years approximately until he died in 244, although this is questioned. Gordian III was supposedly only 19 years old when he died yet there’s no certain record of how old he was when he died or how long he was in reign for. It is assumed he was killed during the Battle of Misiche between the 13th of January and the 14th of March 244.
Obverse:
Bust of Gordian III, radiate, draped, cuirassed, right.
Lettering: IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG
Reverse:
Fortuna, draped, seated left, holding rudder set on the ground in her right hand and cornucopiae in left hand; and a wheel under her seat.
Lettering: FORT REDVX
