Commodus was a Roman emperor from 177 until his assassination in 192AD.
The ancient region of Decapolis was established in the 1st century BC in Jordan and is mainly occupied by Jews and Arabs.
Decapolis consists of 10 cities, modern day Jordan, Syria and Israel. Philadelphia, Gerasa, Gadara, Pella, Dion, Raphana, Scythopolis, Hippos, Canatha and Damascus.
This coin was minted in in the Jewish city of Gadara.
