Valens, brother of Valentinian I, was Roman Emperor from 364 to 378 when he was killed in the Battle of Adrianople. In 367 both emporors were accompanied by Valentinians son, Gratian who was Emperor between 367 and 383. This coin was produced the same year Gratian became an Emperor.
